Privacy Policy

This policy applies to every app published by ALMA Studios on Google Play and to the website alma-studios.app. It explains what data our apps may collect, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short on purpose.

Each app also has its own privacy page that lists exactly what that app collects and who it is for. You can find it from the app’s page on this site, its Google Play listing and inside the app.

In short

  • We collect only what an app needs to work.
  • We never sell your data and we never build advertising profiles of you.
  • Our apps are made for adults, and many are suitable for children too. Apps that children may use follow Google Play’s Families policy.
  • This website sets no cookies and runs no tracking.
  • You can see, correct, export or delete your data at any time.

Who we are

ALMA Studios is an independent app studio based in Salt, Jordan. We are the data controller for the apps we publish and for this website. For any privacy question, including data protection requests, email support@alma-studios.app.

Our approach

We collect only what an app needs to work. We do not sell personal data, we do not build advertising profiles of you, and we do not use dark patterns to get consent.

What we may collect

Each app is different. Its privacy page, Google Play listing and in-app privacy notice say exactly what applies. Across our apps, the categories are:

  • Content you create inside an app, such as notes, lists or settings. In most apps this stays on your device unless you choose to back it up or sync.
  • Account information, if the app offers accounts: an email address or a sign-in identifier from Google.
  • Device and usage data: device model, OS version, app version, language, crash reports and anonymous usage events. We use this to find bugs and understand which features are used.
  • Purchase records, if the app sells anything. Payments are handled by Google Play; we never see your card details.

We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos or microphone data unless a specific feature needs it, and then only with your permission and only while that feature is in use. We never collect these from children.

Why we use it

  • To make the app work and keep your data in sync where you ask for it (to provide the service you asked for).
  • To fix crashes and improve performance (our legitimate interest in reliable apps).
  • To answer support requests (to provide the service you asked for).
  • To meet legal obligations, such as tax records for purchases.

Where we rely on your consent, we ask for it clearly and you can withdraw it at any time in the app or by emailing us.

Children and families

Our apps are made for adults, and many of them are also suitable for children. Each app’s privacy page and Google Play listing say who it is for: everyone, adults only (18+) or children and families.

When an app’s audience includes children:

  • We apply Google Play’s Families policy to the whole app, not only to the parts children use.
  • We do not collect personal data from children under 13, or under the minimum age set by law where they live, without verifiable consent from a parent or guardian.
  • We do not collect precise location, contacts, photos or other sensitive data from children.
  • Ads, if an app has any, are non-personalised and come only from ad providers that meet Google Play’s Families policy. We never use children’s data for advertising or profiling.
  • Analytics, if used, is limited to anonymous, aggregated usage and crash data.
  • Purchases go through Google Play, where parents can require approval for every purchase with Google Family Link.

Users under 18 should use our apps, create accounts and make purchases only with a parent’s or guardian’s permission. Apps marked 18+ are for adults only, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 in those apps.

If you are a parent or guardian, you can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete your child’s data, or to stop collecting it. If you believe your child has given us personal data without your consent, email us and we will delete it promptly.

Third-party services

Some apps use trusted third-party services. Each one has its own privacy policy, and we only share the minimum they need. Each app’s privacy page names the services it uses:

  • Crash reporting and analytics (for example Sentry or Firebase Crashlytics): crash logs and anonymous usage events.
  • Advertising (for example Google AdMob), only in apps that show ads. In apps for adults only, the ad provider may use an advertising identifier you can reset or turn off in your device settings. In apps that children may use, ads are non-personalised.
  • Payments (Google Play Billing): purchase tokens, so we can unlock what you paid for.
  • Hosting and sync, only in apps with accounts or cloud backup.

This website

alma-studios.app sets no cookies and runs no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts. Fonts and images are served from our own domain. If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser only and never sent to us.

If you use our contact form, we receive your name, email address, the topic you pick and your message. We use them only to reply to you, and we delete form messages within 12 months of the conversation ending. If you email us directly, the same applies to your email.

The site is hosted by Netlify, Inc. in the United States, which stores contact form submissions and standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) on our behalf.

Where data is stored

Some of the services we use store data outside Jordan, for example in the European Union or the United States. Where that happens we rely on your consent or on safeguards permitted by Jordan’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 24 of 2023, and each app’s privacy page names the services it uses.

How long we keep data

  • Data on your device stays until you delete it or uninstall the app.
  • Account and sync data is kept while your account is active and deleted within 30 days of a deletion request.
  • Crash and analytics data is kept for up to 14 months.
  • Contact form messages and support emails are deleted within 12 months of the conversation ending.
  • Purchase records are kept as long as tax law requires.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you, correct, restrict or delete the personal data we hold about you, and to give you a copy of it. You can also object to how we use it or withdraw consent you gave. To delete your data, follow the steps on our Delete your data page. For anything else, email us. We reply within 7 days.

Security

Data in transit is encrypted. Access to any server-side data is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure, so we also keep the amount of data we hold small. If a breach affects your personal data, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top and tell you inside the app at least 14 days before the change takes effect. If a change needs your consent, we will ask for it again.

Languages

This policy is available in English and Arabic. If the two versions differ, the Arabic version prevails for users in Jordan.
